The United State of Women Summit took place in Washington, D.C., on June 14, a gathering that highlighted the need for continued dedication from American companies to provide equal pay and opportunities for women. A summary of the event on the White House’s official blog reaffirms the stark pay gap: In 2014, an average woman working a full-time job in the U.S. would only earn 79 percent of what her male counterpart would earn in a comparable full-time position.
