National specialty store Urban Outfitters and global actions sports and lifestyle brand Airwalk have announce their newest collection together, Airwalk x Staple for Urban Outfitters. In commemoration of Airwalk’s 30th anniversary, the brand has teamed up with legendary shoe designer, Jeff Staple, to re-imagine and re-launch Airwalk’s legendary sneaker “The One”. Further complimenting the sneaker launch, a seven-piece men’s apparel collection is available only at UO. The brands collaborated with chart-topping Ventura, California rapper KYLE to bring the shoe and apparel collection to life in the exclusive editorial imagery.
“Working closely with Airwalk and Urban Outfitters to launch this collection has re-claimed the brand’s place in pop culture,” said Staple. “The capsule mixes Airwalk’s sports heritage with current day sneaker culture which serves to reignite this legendary skate brand.”
The Airwalk Classic x Staple sneakers will be available at Urban Outfitters in five colors, and live alongside the seven-piece men’s apparel assortment, which includes a short-sleeve graphic tee, a layered long-sleeve graphic tee, a checkered long-sleeve graphic tee, a hoodie, a coach’s jacket, a checkered painter’s hat, and a dad hat. Pieces in the apparel collection pay homage to 90’s skate style featuring bold graphics, checkered patterns, and custom patches, and come in a distinct palette of white, black, and hot pink. Prices range from $24 – $99.
To launch the campaign, Airwalk and Urban Outfitters will host two in-store events. The first, a special styling event with Jeff Staple and style influencers at UO’s Herald Square flagship store and will take place on Wednesday, July 26 from 6PM – 8PM EST. The styling event will be followed by a live music show by one of today’s most popular young rappers. On Thursday, August 3 UO Herald Square and Airwalk will host a Live Afterhours performance featuring KYLE. Doors will open at 10 PM EST with the show starting at 10:30 PM EST.
