the tie barChicago-based retailer The Tie Bar has announced the appointment of Allyson Lewis as its CEO. Lewis assumed full responsibilities of CEO in the fall of last year and will manage the overall operations and company moving forward.

Lewis has been part of The Tie Bar team for three and a half years, beginning as the director of merchandising and design before being promoted to department vice president and now CEO of the company. During that time, she was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the brand’s product and design, leading the launch and expansion of new product categories such as belts, scarves, socks, and spearheading the launch of the brand’s first collection of dress shirts. In addition to product and merchandising, Lewis was a driving force behind growing The Tie Bar and the team from a small neckwear business to the respected menswear brand that it is today.

Prior to her work with The Tie Bar, Lewis worked as a strategy and operations consultant for Deloitte, in private label product development as a strategy manager for Nordstrom, Inc. in Seattle, and as vice president of merchandising for Mark Shale in Chicago.

“Throughout my years with the company I’ve seen us grow in many exciting ways; more than ever, our customers look to us as the style authority and a trusted source,” said Lewis. “With this new role I look forward to leading this company to the next level; further growing the brand and honing the unique perspective and expertise we bring to the menswear industry.”

Additionally, Lewis has recently added to The Tie Bar leadership team with key hires from Trunk Club, Bain Consulting, BucketFeet and Jump Trading.
