ALPHA INDUSTRIES INTRODUCES OPERATION RE:SUPPLY

by Stephen Garner

As part of its fall/winter 2020 season, Alpha Industries has debuted “Operation RE: Supply,” a curated collection of authentic pre-owned vintage and deadstock surplus military styles and accessories.

Alpha Industries’ mission with “Operation RE: Supply,” is to provide access to authentic military vintage and deadstock apparel to a wider audience. To ensure the authenticity of the collection’s styles, each piece was examined by experienced fashion historians during a rigorous authentication process. Vintage items included in the collection are pre-owned, while deadstock pieces are actually unused past-production items that never made it into circulation. All items are government-issued styles that were originally made for the U.S. military

As the original Military apparel contractor, Alpha Industries’ expertise in this area spans decades and was really put to the test when handpicking each of the vintage and deadstock pieces seen within the collection. Styles and accessories from the collection include a vintage M-65 Field Jacket Liner and Wool Field Shirt, as well as deadstock items such as Rubber Over Boots, Knit Wool Scarf, Fingerless Gloves, and more, with a range of pricing from $20 to $120.

With the goal of creating a space where old and new come together beyond just vintage and deadstock items, Alpha Industries will eventually expand “Operation RE: Supply” by collaborating with designers and artists on a series of upcycle collections. Here, vintage and deadstock pieces, along with current Alpha Industries styles, will be deconstructed and re-imagined into new creations.
