AMBUSH RELEASES SECOND EYEWEAR COLLECTION WITH GENTLE MONSTER

by Stephen Garner

After the success of their first eyewear collaboration, cult-favorites Gentle Monster and Ambush partner for a second capsule collection. Minimal yet edgy, the collection is inspired by climbing and outdoor sports activities, featuring two sunglasses designs, each with three color iterations, and a carabiner detail that highlights where the two brands’ identities align – in a fascination for the unexpected.

Styles are offered in bold square and cat-eye frames in 100 percent UV-protected black Zeiss, orange gradient, and blue lenses. The voluminous temples detailed with the D-shaped carabiners and logos on the temples accentuate the uniqueness and identities of both brands.

“Gentle Monster has been incredible with its unique vision and presence in the industry, releasing many unique pieces straight out of Korea, my motherland,” said Yoon Ann, creative director of Ambush. “I’m proud to announce our second collaboration using classic motifs, found in our jewelry line ‘carabiner’. This time we took it one step further by inviting Korea’s next-gen creatives such as Hwimin (GroovyRoom) to produce a soundtrack and video, featuring Korean rapper Ash Island, seamlessly connecting components of fashion and music.”

The Gentle Monster x Ambush eyewear capsule, with each pair retailing for $320, is now available at Gentle Monster’s and Ambush’s online and physical stores as well as select global retailers.
