American Apparel March same-store sales up 8%

American Apparel LOS ANGELES—American Apparel Inc. announced its preliminary figures for March, with same-store sales up 8 percent and total sales up 2 percent to $50.3 million.

Same-store sales were up 5 percent for its retail stores and up 26 percent for its e-commerce business.

“March represents our 22nd consecutive month of positive comparable store growth,” said CEO Dov Charney. “I’m excited by our sales results as well as our prospects for the second, third and fourth quarters of this year. Customer demand and our product assortment are strong as we continue to enhance the customer experience in our retail and online channels.”

American Apparel operates 249 retail stores in 20 countries.
