AMIRI INTRODUCES CAPSULE WITH A LOVE MOVEMENT PROJECT

by Stephen Garner

Amiri has introduced a special spring/summer ‘21 capsule collection created in collaboration with independent L.A. brand, A Love Movement Project, formed around a shared emphasis on artisanal craft and customizable designs.

Together, A Love Movement’s synonymous messages of positivity adorn a range of luxury jersey pieces cut in Amiri’s signature silhouettes. Phrases such as “All Love,” “Healthy Body Healthy Mind,” and “Take It Easy Baby” read across sweatshirts, tees, and sweatpants alongside happy patchwork motifs including smiling bears and cheeky faces. The capsule promotes a spirit of optimism and wellbeing that echoes the West Coast sensibilities at the core of Amiri’s spring/summer ‘21 collection.

Founded by Tetsuzo Okubo after the designer emigrated to Los Angeles in 2000, A Love Movement is a highly personal brand conceived with the intention of spreading messages of happiness to the world. Having worked under Yohji Yamamoto for ten years, becoming chief designer of accessories, upon moving to the West Coast, Okubo took over L.A. vintage store MOMO before conceiving his own label centered around a love of recycling and repurposing found materials and garments. This spirit of DIY creativity compliments Mike Amiri’s own, forging an intuitive dialogue.

The Amiri x A Love Movement Project capsule is now available on amiri.com, Amiri Rodeo Drive, and at global retailers.
