ANDREW ROSEN, NICK GRAHAM, STUART VEVERS TO BE HONORED AT 2017 AMERICAN IMAGE AWARDS

aafa honoreesThe honorees have been announced for the 2017 AAFA American Image Awards, which will take place on April 24. Tony Award winner Alan Cumming will host the ceremony.

Theory founder and CEO Andrew Rosen will be honored as Person of the Year; Stuart Vevers, the Executive Creative Director of Coach, has been named Designer of the Year; Marc Fisher Footwear will receive the award for Company of the Year; designer and entrepreneur Nick Graham will be honored as Fashion Maverick; and Edward Nardoza, the former editor-in-chief of WWD  will be given the group’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

“As a leader in the fashion world, the American Image Awards honors our industry’s highest achievers. These are the mavericks, influencers, and rebels who continue to transform fashion and our business,” said Rick Helfenbein, president and CEO of the American Apparel & Footwear Association. “We are thrilled to highlight the accomplishments of the 2017 honorees.”

“We thank the AAFA for its support of the CFDA Fashion Manufacturing Initiative, an important program to preserve garment manufacturing in New York,” added Steven Kolb, president and CEO of the CFDA. “With the funds raised on this special evening, CFDA will be able to contribute to an important aspect of New York City’s economy.”

The awards, which honors those who have exemplified leadership, excellence, and outstanding achievement in all sectors of the apparel and footwear industry, are being presented this year in conjunction with the Fashion Manufacturing Initiative, a program within the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Foundation.
