ARC’TERYX OFFERS REPAIRED ARCHIVAL JACKETS ON GRAILED STARTING TODAY

by Christopher Blomquist

Apparel and outerwear brand Arc’teryx Equipment is partnering with online shopping site Grailed for an exclusive sale of 10 rare archival pieces starting today. The sale covers vintage one-of-one pieces from past collections dating back to 2001 that have been fully restored through Arc’teryx’s ReBird Program.

Each piece will be sold at the exact retail price of its original launch (prices range from $199 to $575) with all proceeds being matched by Grailed to benefit the Climbers of Color, a non-profit that aims to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the climbing and mountaineering community by developing leaders of color.

Launched in May 2021, the Arc’teryx ReBird program was designed to connect customers to the brand’s ongoing initiatives in circularity, including education, resale, upcycling, and product care and repair.  Each featured piece in the sale has been restored using proprietary raw materials and reconstructed.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Grailed and share our circularity journey through this archival collection,” said Dominique Showers, VP Recommerce at Arc’teryx. “We recognize that we’re responsible for the environmental impact of the gear we put out in the world, and giving older pieces a new lease on life, while also learning about how to make our products better and longer-lasting is an exciting and important challenge for us.”

“We’re excited to team up with Arc’teryx and support their ongoing commitment to adopting sustainable practices and evolving their initiatives in circularity,” said Arun Gupta, CEO of Grailed.  “Shopping second hand is one of the easiest ways to incorporate sustainability into your everyday life and this initiative marks an exciting next step in amplifying the value of circularity within the fashion industry

Yesterday the 10 heritage pieces were on view at Arc’teryx’s first New York City retail store with a ReBird Service Center, located at 547 Broadway in SoHo.

In addition to being able to buy the reworked pieces, Grailed users can also purchase from a curated collection of over 200 additional Arc’teryx listings pulled from Grailed’s seller community.
