With boyish motifs and childlike inspirations, menswear designers have been venturing into Neverland. But lest we be tempted to call this spring 2023 trendkidcore,’ there’s more to it than the simple desire to replicate outfits from childhood. On the surface, it’s another sign that nostalgia is overtaking the industry, but because it’s happening specifically in menswear, it says something we should be paying attention to about the current state of masculinity.
