ATELIER MUNRO LAUNCHES LIMITED-EDITION SUITCASE COLLAB WITH ALSTERMO BRUK

by John Russel Jones

To celebrate a new travel-inspired collection, Amsterdam-based made-to-measure clothing company Atelier Munro collaborated with one of the oldest makers of fiberboard luggage in the world, Swedish suitcase company Alstermo Bruk (one of the nation’s 10 oldest companies). The like-minded brands worked together to create a limited-edition suitcase combining elements from Atelier Munro’s own aesthetic with inspiration from the travelwear collection and the man behind it: Formula E racing champion, Nyck De Vries.

The limited-edition luggage is designed in Atelier Munro’s signature navy blue with black accents. Inside, the lining is water repellent and frost gray, based on a car coat featured in Nyck’s curated collection. Every case comes with a ‘travel-sticker-pack’ inspired by racetracks where Nyck has celebrated special victories throughout his career, including Saudi Arabia, Spa, and his hometown of Monte Carlo.

The case is made from Alstermo Bruk’s vulcanized fiberboard – a 100% recycled material that is both lightweight and extremely strong. It is completely plastic-free and also features locally sourced leather, pine wood, and textile. Each will be made on demand by hand in Sweden and can be personalized with a name pressed in a leather patch on the inner compartment.

“We strongly believe that the products you use for a long time, and repair rather than replace, are the most sustainable,” says Henrik Blad, CEO of Alstermo Bruk.
