aussiebum 24K GoldSydney, Australia-based underwear brand AussieBum is holding a competition in which three winners will receive a pair of the world’s most expensive underwear. Made of 24K gold, each pair sells for $14,695 AUD (approximately $11,000 USD).

The 24K Gold yarn was developed in Germany and knitted into fabric in Queensland. It was designed by company founder Sean Ashby, and was created in honor of the Australian Gold Rush.

“The Gold Rush era was one of the most exciting and prosperous times of Australian history,” said Ashby. “I’m mesmerized by the thought that people traveled from around the world to seek their fortunes in Australia. Now, people don’t have to travel down under to find their fortunes.”
