BAPE Collaborates With the Van Gogh Museum

A new collaboration is on-the-way, bringing together the distinctive aesthetics of BAPE and the artistic legacy of the Van Gogh Museum. This partnership has culminated in a limited-edition capsule collection that basically reinterprets BAPE’s iconic motifs through the lens of Vincent Van Gogh’s most celebrated works. Paintings such as “Sunflowers,” “Yellow House,” and “Self-Portrait in a Gray Felt Hat” are seamlessly integrated into BAPE’s signature designs, including the APE HEAD and the iconic Shark Hoodie. The collection notably features APE HEAD canvases depicting six of Van Gogh’s masterpieces in chronological order, and the Shark Hoodie is reimagined with a new “OIL PAINTING CAMO” pattern that visually translates his unique brushstrokes into BAPE’s recognizable camouflage. BAPE has such a dedicated following. I had the privilege of being the commercial real estate broker for the opening of their first store in SoHo. The location was so prime that, from day one, lines stretched down the street.
