BAPE RELOCATES SOHO STORE TO MERCER STREET

by Stephen Garner

A Bathing Ape (BAPE) has officially opened a new store in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood.

Moving operations from the brand’s original 91 Greene Street location, the new BAPE New York store is poised to carry 17 years of tradition in NYC and continue its delivery of premium apparel, footwear, and accessories from its new footprint at 163 Mercer Street.

Spanning 1,665 square feet, customers have plenty of room to shop the latest BAPE seasonal apparel, footwear, and accessory offerings, and collaboration products.

A modern interior, complete with stone flooring and sleek metallic fixtures is combined with classic BAPE design elements. For example, the tempered glass display window at the store’s entrance couples an LED wall with six life-size Teriyaki Boyz figures, immediately grounding customers in a piece of BAPE history.

Elsewhere inside the store, hanging racks along the wall are surrounded by mirrors finished with the BAPE Line Camo pattern. In the center of the store, customers can relax on one of two custom BAPE x Modernica camo sofas.

BAPE’s new SoHo store is now open from 11am – 6pm Monday through Saturday and 12 – 5pm on Sunday.
