BARNEYS AND BARACUTA TO LAUNCH LIMITED EDITION HARRINGTON JACKETS
On May 1, Baracuta and Barneys New York will launch a limited capsule of G9 Harrington jackets in reverence of the British punk and rudeboy subcultures while remaining true to its English manufacturing roots. A limited run of these jackets will be exclusively available at select Barney’s retail stores and online for $450.
The Baracuta x Barney’s XO is offered in two exclusive styles in a 100 percent lightweight windproof and water resistant nylon shell, replacing the traditional CoolMax Fraser tartan lining with leopard print or woven vintage tartan lining. An oversized fit provides a relaxed on-trend appeal while retaining the standing collars, double zipper, and ribbed cuffed hems of the original jacket.
Originally founded by brothers John & Isaac Miller in Manchester in 1937 Baracuta is best known for its G9 jacket, which has been worn by Steve McQueen, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Bradley Cooper, Lucky Blue Smith and Robert Pattinson.
The company, which is currently under the Woolrich brand umbrella, has recently introduced the G4 jacket, which has been updated with improvements to cut, details and lightweight technical fabrics.
