Begg_ScarfLuxury Scottish cashmere scarf brand, Begg & Co will celebrate 150 years of manufacturing and design by releasing a special anniversary scarf that incorporates 150 different cashmere shades inspired by the Scottish landscapes and seascapes. The scarves feature a unique palette of heather, forest green, moss and sea blue hues.

Only 150 of these anniversary scarves have been made for sale around the world and each one is clearly numbered and labelled with a special anniversary label. Each scarf is being sold with an accompanying cashmere bag and cards detailing how it was made in the company’s factory in Ayr. The scarf will retail at $650 in the U.S.

In addition to the 150 limited-edition bold check scarves, a more widely available traditional weight “Arran” cashmere scarf has also been created by the company to mark the anniversary featuring an attractive paisley and teasel screen-print design. These “Arran scarves will be available in four color options — flannel blue, flannel teal, black wine and camel teal — and will retail at $675.

A collection of plain-colored scarves will also be part of the company’s newest collection, and will be available in both the traditional weight “Arran” to the ultra-lightweight “Wispy.” The collection will be showcased in specially designed display cases in key retailers worldwide this autumn.

“We have taken our ‘heritage’ cashmere shades and put a new spin on them by re-weaving the colours into a new contemporary Scottish palette, a palette which celebrates Begg’s 150 years and sense of place within an ever-changing Scottish landscape,” commented Ann Ryley, Begg & Co’s sales and marketing director.
