BEN SHERMAN RETURNS TO PITTI UOMO WITH SPECIAL EXHIBITION

by Stephen Garner

British heritage brand Ben Sherman returns to Pitti Uomo this season with a special exhibition and commemorative presentation, entitled “The Decades”, which celebrates over fifty years of shirt-making.

Curated exclusively for the occasion of Pitti Uomo, discerning aficionados attending Florence will have a rare opportunity to see vintage pieces from the brand’s archive alongside key items from the autumn/winter ‘19 collection.

Featuring sartorial button-down classics from previous decades, the autumn/winter ‘19 collection also includes flock printed t-shirts, heritage waffle knitwear, and classic waxed cotton fishtail parka. A capsule range, called The Archive, stays true to the brand DNA and completes the perfect contemporary street style look.

“For the first time in five years we return to Pitti Uomo with a fantastic exhibition showcasing how the Ben Sherman shirt has remained relevant in menswear for fifty-five years,” said Mark Williams, creative director of Ben Sherman. “It’s a very exciting time and a great opportunity to remind buyers of the brand’s unique DNA and provenance.”

“We are extremely happy that an iconic menswear brand Ben Sherman has decided to be back to Florence,” added Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine. “Both the new autumn/winter 2019 collection and the special exhibition celebrating its art of shirtmaking will be a must-see of the Pitti Uomo experience.”
