BLOOMINGDALE’S 59TH STREET OPENS HOLIDAY POP-UP

by Stephen Garner

Bloomingdale’s has opened its holiday edition of The Carousel @ Bloomingdale’s: Find Your Happy Place, which transports shoppers to a special elevated escape, as part of the Bloomingdale’s “Give Happy” holiday campaign.

Husband and wife duo Matt Hranek and Yolanda Edwards serve as the guest curators for this newest rendition of The Carousel @ Bloomingdale’s. With the experience as career-long editors, tastemakers, and global travelers, and now each at the helm of their own publications, Yolo Journal and WM Brown, the curators bring their discerning eyes to this special holiday pop-up.

Opening at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street flagship and on Bloomingdales.com today, The Carousel brings together distinct finds and luxury gifts across fashion, beauty, home, and more.  Also, starting on November 21st, 59th Street shoppers that spend $100 at The Carousel will receive a complimentary mini palm tree from the Barefoot Dreams palm tree lot located on 60th Street, between Lexington and Third Avenue.

“It’s been such a terrific opportunity for us to work with Bloomingdale’s, such an iconic store that we both grew up with,” said Hranek and Edwards in a joint statement. “Curating our favorites for the holiday shop by reaching out to makers and designers that we’ve met around the world, doing some special collaborations with them just for this pop-up, and bringing them into the Bloomingdale’s fold has been so much fun!”

Find Your Happy Place offers an assortment of gifts that provide a special treat to loved ones with their evolving lifestyles, tastes, and interests, including P. Volve’s all-in-one toning kit ($190), Kin Euphorics’ drinks with mood-boosting adaptogens ($39), Barefoot Dreams wraps ($121), Cire Trudon bust candles ($130), and luxury finds like Mansur Gavriel’s gold mini clutch ($495), exclusive Baccarat highball glasses ($280), an exclusive La Mer beauty set ($490) and Alberto Amati 14K gold jewelry.

Hranek and Edwards also curated distinct finds from around the world, like Lisa Corti dresses from Milan ($230), a new generation of earbuds from Paris-based Devialet ($300), and twist candles in candy pastels from Rotterdam designer Lex Pott ($40). An exclusive capsule collection from 100HANDS, a menswear brand from Amsterdam, is featured with styles like a light blue brushed cotton shirt ($365), a denim shirt ($365), and a traveler’s jacket finished in a wool flannel ($775).

In clothing and accessories gifts, The Carousel offers everything from cozy luxury essentials to distinctive accessories that make any outfit special. Brands like Frame, Perfect Moment, and ASTR the Label offer snug sweaters you’ll want to live in, while Alo Yoga and Apparis deliver stylish coats. Those looking for a fashionably cozy night can snuggle up with Sleeper feather-trimmed pajamas ($320) or matching sweat sets from Kule, Aviator Nation, and Vintage Havana. Let’s not forget about accessories, where exclusive Birkenstock shearling slides ($180), Ann Mashburn lizard-embossed bracelets ($95), and Les Belles Heures silk scarves ($196) make the perfect gift. In menswear, Find Your Happy place brings together special discoveries like Inis Meáin knitwear, Herno outerwear, a Paul Stuart herringbone robe, and Rains accessories. There’s also an exclusive Apolis market tote, embroidered with the logo of Hranek’s magazine, WM Brown ($78).

And, for the ultimate gift, Bloomingdale’s shoppers can purchase a travel package to incredible destinations like an idyllic nature retreat to Hidden Pond, a luxury resort in Kennebunkport, Maine, complete with a treetop lodge, massages, private mixology class and other calming activities ($9,000 for two people).
