The CFDA has announced the nominees for its annual awards and it looks a lot like last year. For Menswear Designer of the Year, Public School’s Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne—last year’s winners—made the list again and are also up for the Swarovski Award for Womenswear. The duo also won the Swarovski Award for Menswear in 2013.

The other Menswear nominees are Thom Browne (also nominated last year, won in 2013); Rag & Bone’s Marcus Wainwright and David Neville (also nominated last year, won in 2010); Tom Ford (who won in 2008); and Tom Coppens, who won the Swarovski Award for Menswear last year.

It’s a reminder, perhaps, of how few big-name designers and editorial favorites there are out there right now. Nominations come from the CFDA Fashion Awards Guild, an exclusive group of fashion retailers, press, stylists and of course the 450 fashion designers in the CFDA itself. The nominations are ratified by the CFDA’s board.
The nominees for the Swarovski Award for Menswear this year are Hood by Air’s Shayne Oliver (also nominated last year), Orley and Ovadia & Sons.

J. Crew’s Mickey Drexler will be honored with the Eleanor Lambert Founder’s Award and Instagram, the social network, will be given the Eugenia Sheppard Media Award.

The 2015 CFDA Awards will be held on June 1 at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.
