Forget what you think you know about pinstripes—or, more specifically, their rougher distressed cousin, the chalk stripe. What was once a pattern reserved for the establishment man’s big-business suits has spread to broader sartorial horizons, moving from fatcat tailoring to future-leaning pants, overcoats, boxy sweatshirts, and ball caps. The new way to wear chalk stripes is easygoing: Throw some on over jeans and a tee, wrap them around your neck to keep warm, or suit up if that’s your jam.
