The Council of Fashion Designers of America has announced that American comedian, actor, writer, television producer, and television host Joel McHale will host the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday, June 6 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. McHale joins the evening’s nominees and honorees at the dynamic event, which will include a seated dinner and live performances from Jennifer Hudson and Michael C. Hall.

Hall will perform a song to commemorate the extraordinary legacy and style of David Bowie, recipient of the Board of Directors’ Tribute award. Actress Tilda Swinton will be accepting the award on behalf of the late artist. The evening will close with a special performance by Grammy Award-winning recording artist and Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson.

“His experience as a host, an actor, a comedian and someone who comes from outside the fashion industry will keep the night lively, topical, and unexpected,” said Steven Kolb, president and CEO of the CFDA.
