COMME DES GARCONS POCKET OPENS SHOP AT BLOOMINGDALE’S 59TH STREET

by Stephen Garner

Bloomingdale’s has opened a new 500 square foot Comme des Garçons Pocket shop at its 59th Street flagship in New York City.

Inside, shoppers will be transported into the world of Comme des Garçons Pocket, as seen with the new, black polka-dotted curved plexiglass design that’s synonymous with the Pocket shop concept, and designed by the brand’s co-founder, Rei Kawakubo. Every Pocket shop is designed to integrate naturally into its surroundings and evoke the feeling of a convenience store.

The shop, the first in the U.S. to feature this new spatial design, will offer statement-making designs for men, women, and kids, featuring the iconic heart-and-eyes motif, with a focus on apparel, footwear, small leather goods, and fragrance.

Shoppers will also discover Comme des Garçons Play, a collection that features woven shirts, solid and striped tees, sweaters, and hoodies for both men and women, in addition to men’s polos and zip-up sweatshirts, and kid’s shirts. The highly-coveted Comme des Garçons Play x Converse Chuck Taylor also arrives at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street, in a variety of colors and prints – all featuring the playful heart-and-eyes graphic in both low-top and high-top unisex styles. Accessories continue with an expansive Comme des Garçons Wallet selection in solid colors, bold hues, and color block variations, along with the brand’s top fragrances and the latest Comme des Garçons Rouge Parfum.

The new Comme des Garçons Pocket shop is now open on the first floor of Bloomingdale’s 59th Street flagship.
