CRÉMIEUX OPENS NYC FLAGSHIP
French menswear label Crémieux opened its flagship store in New York City last Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Spanning 1,600 square feet, the store is located at 650 Madison Avenue, with its entrance around the corner on East 60th Street. An opening party showcased the debut of the brand’s spring-summer 2025 collections. The store’s design aims to evoke the ambiance of a French Riviera boutique, providing an opportunity for Creative Director Stéphane Crémieux to engage with clients and share his insights on contemporary menswear style.
The store’s décor combines vintage and modern aesthetics, showcasing wooden shelves, brass racks, and glass elements. Curated vintage items, such as haberdashery cabinets sourced from Paris and London flea markets, add a retro charm, while accents of Crémieux’s signature navy blue perfectly embody the brand’s ethos. A custom bar enhances the hospitality aspect of the shopping experience, and a dedicated Made to Measure area invites customers to explore personalized options tailored to their preferences.
Crémieux was founded in 1976 in Saint-Tropez by designer Daniel Crémieux, who was born in 1938 in Marseille. After studying English in London at seventeen, he discovered British style elements such as braces, badges, and checked pullovers, which inspired his vision of a sophisticated preppy look. Following a trip to New York in the late 60s, he aimed to create a modern interpretation of traditional menswear, which, under the leadership of his son Stéphane, has become a symbol of superior quality and attention to detail. The company now has stores in New York, Palm Beach, Bal Harbour, Paris, Saint Tropez, Capri, and London. The company also creates the Daniel Cremieux Signature collection exclusively for Dillard’s.
