DR. MARTENS COLLABORATES WITH MARC JACOBS ON NEW BOOT

by Conor Williamson

Legendary shoe brand Dr. Martens, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary, is collaborating with famed fashion designer Marc Jacobs on the 1460 Marc Jacobs boot, which will drop in stores on September 26th. The boots will retail for $210.

Inspired by the years of customization and DIY attitude that has shaped both brands, the boots are dripping with antique gold trinkets, from dice to whistles to keys, which take cues from the designer’s own collection. They’re wound around a completely vegan upper and complete with dual-branded tongue label and swing tag, yellow welt stitching, and a vegan heel loop.

Jacobs designed his first collection with the Marc Jacobs label in 1984. The following year, Jacobs received the distinct honor of being the youngest designer ever to be awarded the fashion industry’s highest tribute: The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent.  He has since been nominated numerous times for his design work.
