DR. MARTENS TO RELEASE COLLABORATION WITH JJJJOUND

by Stephen Garner

For the first time, Dr. Martens is teaming up with JJJJound for a new collaboration.

Originally launched in 2006 by Justin Saunders as a compilation of inspiring imagery and design references, JJJJound began as Saunders’ personal virtual stream of consciousness, which fast evolved into an influential go-to for global menswear. Evolving beyond the realm of the Internet, JJJJound was made tangible by collaborations with artists and brands, and by calling upon forward-thinking individuals who often lace-up in Dr. Martens.

For this collaboration, JJJJound has reimagined Dr. Martens’ signature Archie II style in dark brown Crazy Horse leather and black Wyoming leather. The brown shoe represents the contemporary creative and the black style represents the traditional creative.

Both styles are handcrafted in England in Dr. Martens’ Wollaston factory and feature its instantly recognizable signature yellow welt stitching. The Wyoming shoe stands on a smoke V18 outsole, while the brown Crazy Horse style is built upon a trans V18 outsole. The two silhouettes are finished with a JJJJound sewn-in tab, a set of blind eyelets, a dual-branded sock liner, and include secondary brown and yellow Tetoron laces.

The collection will be available from July 31st at select stores and via drmartens.com.
