Yesterday evening, Dsquared2’s dynamic duo, Dean and Dan Caten, were joined by a slew of New York fashion’s finest and a bevvy of celebrities at their new West Broadway store. The bi-level black paneled flagship served as the perfect backdrop for the twins’ fluorescent SS15 collection, with men’s on the first floor and women’s on the second, each split into ‘fashion,’ ‘casual,’ and ‘classic’ zones. While editors and industry insiders sipped champagne and flipped through the racks, supermodel Chanel Iman and R&B royalty Mary J. Blige snapped pics with the Catens. Having just last month celebrated the brand’s twentieth year, it is somewhat surprising that the DSquared2’s entry into New York has been so many years in the making, but the Canadian natives’ attentions have been turned more towards Europe and Asia. However, with boutiques also recently opened in Miami and Los Angeles, the brand has a solid global foundation to grow their American influence.
