ELEVENTY OPENS STORE IN GREENWICH, CONNECTICUT

Eleventy opened its second U.S. store last weekend, this time at 98 Greenwich Avenue in Greenwich, Connecticut.

The Italian brand’s new 1,800-square-foot boutique joins its first store that opened on Greene Street in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan two years ago, which Geoff Schneiderman, president of Eleventy North America, says is expected to be slow through the end of this year while tourists and professionals take a longer time to return to the city.

“We are very encouraged by the market in Greenwich, as the area is full of people who’ve escaped NYC during and likely beyond the pandemic,” Schneiderman tells MR. “The town has done a great job of safely promoting shopping and dining to locals as well as people taking day trips from New York City, New Jersey, and elsewhere.”

Schneiderman notes that the brand’s new store has the full collection of men’s and women’s fall 2020 collection on display, with artwork by contemporary artist Erik Skoldberg seen throughout the store.

“Greenwich will offset some of the SoHo slowdown, but obviously not enough,” adds Schneiderman. “We are currently looking at other resort and suburban markets for Eleventy stores to pop-up temporarily and expect at least one or two more to open by this fall.”
