by Stephen Garner

Project VegasOpening with the West Coast edition of the fall/winter 2017 collections on Tuesday, February 21, PROJECT Las Vegas will evolve its format by bringing educational seminars, live fashion presentations, celebrity appearances and experiential activations to the show floor. Neighboring shows include PROJECT Women’s, The TENTS, POOLTRADESHOW, The Collective, CURVE Las Vegas and Stitch.

Beginning with PROJECT, a series of seminars will be located at the newly positioned Buyer’s Suite, dedicated to an array of topics that impact the retail climate. The discussions will be held within the heritage and classic menswear focused section, The Collective.

Moderators include CFDA member and creative director, Luis Fernandez, who will lead The P1V0T Sessions: Maker Movement discussion focused on tech experts weighing in on the current impact advances in technology have on fashion design and production. First Insight and Fashion for Globe are among the participating companies. A second P1V0T discussion featuring Yotpo will dive into consumer experience and activation.

“We think it is important to integrate an element of educational content in our shows, for buyers and brands to walk away not only with a strong book of business but also new ideas on how to evolve in the ever-changing world of fashion,” said Erik Ulin, president of men’s for UBM Fashion. “Bringing the Buyer’s Suite and P1V0T sessions to PROJECT is one of the steps in building a strong educational offering.”
