EXTRA BUTTER JOINS FORCES WITH UGG
Popular NYC retailer Extra Butter has joined forces with UGG to release a Renaissance-themed line.
Reimagining the UGG brand’s signature silhouettes, this all-gender drop features the Neumel “Marble” Boot, Tasman “Still Life” Slipper, Fluff It “Fresco” Slipper, and Duffield Throw “Marble”. The release will correspond with a video campaign and Long Island City, New York pop-up art gallery that will aim to highlight people of color including Malik Roberts, Maya Davis, Austin Willis, and Mason Eve.
“I’ve been looking forward to working with a brand that can help share my story as an art & design student,” said Bernie Gross, creative director of Extra Butter. “My days studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology became an asset to building the Extra Butter brand and the UGG brand’s heritage footwear became a great conduit to design around these memories. There were many art movements to pull inspiration from but marble statues, still life paintings, and fresco brush techniques yielded aesthetics we felt were visually impactful and made for uniquely wearable footwear. The quality of UGG products speaks directly to the passion, craftsmanship, and detail put into work similar to a fine artist.”
The capsule, which retails between $120 and $180, will launch on Friday, November 19th exclusively at extrabutterny.com. The line will also be available in-store at both Extra Butter’s Long Island City and Lower East Side locations.
