On May 16th, Faherty reopened its Bleecker Street store after a month of renovation and expansion.

The expanded Bleecker Street store introduces the new “Faherty Woman” store concept, which the brand will be adding dedicated women’s sections to each of its stores. The Malibu store location was also recently expanded in order to accommodate this new retail experience. This focus coincides with the growing women’s business and the hiring of Elisda Miller, the new women’s creative director, formerly creative director of Calypso.

“I’m psyched to announce that our Bleecker Street store has reopened! A little over a month ago, we shut our doors for a bit of a renovation,” said Alex Faherty. “We knocked out a couple of walls, took over the space next door, painted and went full beach shack chic. One half is totally dedicated to our women’s collection and the other is our men’s shop. The whole place looks amazing. If you’re in Greenwich Village, come by! Our new summer collection is in.”

In addition to the recent expansions, Faherty is opening its tenth retail location, this time on Martha’s Vineyard at 17 N Water Street, right in the heart of Edgartown. The store will open on Saturday, May 25th, just in time for Memorial Day Weekend. This will be the brand’s third storefront in Massachusetts following the openings of its Boston and Nantucket locations.

Alex and Mike Faherty’s mom Ninie Norris served as the interior designer for this new location. Ninie and Mike’s college friend, Ryan Lawson, teamed up once more to furnish the new Martha’s Vineyard outpost. (Editor’s note: Ninie and Ryan have designed all of Faherty’s locations). The new location will borrow aesthetic cues from the other Faherty stores including vintage surfboards, layered textiles, and a selection of unexpected objects, antiques and art collected from worldly travels in order make each shop feel unique and evoke the feeling of a never-ending summer in a family beach house.

Faherty will also incorporate its experiential event series, Sun Sessions as part of the in-store programming.
