FILA TEAMS UP WITH THE MUSEUM DC

by Stephen Garner

Fila has teamed up with The Museum DC, a Washington DC-based product gallery known for its artistic interpretations of streetwear.

Inspired by the cultural influence of DC neighborhoods in the ‘80s and early ‘90s, the 7-piece Museum DC x Fila capsule includes the Museum DC x Tennis 88 ($85), two polos ($98), two jackets ($118), and two pairs of pants ($98). Paying homage to a moment in time when the community set trends, this was the era that entrepreneurship and hustle influenced a culture amongst the youth.

The design inspiration for this partnership is based on Museum DC’s creed to represent the creative community. The Museum DC x Tennis 88 silhouette is seen with an allover print of a creative’s tools, such as rulers, scissors, paintbrushes, and palettes. Each tool possesses its own unique significance but when combined together, they can create masterpieces. The insole design is seen with a skeleton of a foot, which is symbolic for people who walk in fashion and art to continuously ground themselves in the passion of creativity. Completing the capsule, the apparel pieces are created in a bold and playful color palette of white, navy, red, light blue, and gold, and features a dual-branded logo on each piece.

Museum DC x Fila is now available on fila.com and themuseumdc.com, and in-store at The Museum DC on August 28th.
