FRED SEGAL NAMED EXCLUSIVE RETAIL PARTNER FOR LACOSTE’S SPRING COLLECTION

by Stephen Garner

Fred Segal revealed on Thursday that it is now the exclusive retail partner for the launch of Lacoste’s spring/summer 2021 collection, designed by the brand’s creative director Louise Trotter. With select styles limited to 200 units worldwide, the 20-piece limited-edition collection is full of dynamic, upcycled creations.

Featuring casual silhouettes and intricate separates, the collection reimagines the French heritage brand’s classics resulting in limited-edition patchwork heirloom pieces where polo shirts become jogging pants, nylon windbreakers are recycled into tennis shorts, and the tennis sweater finds raw, hybrid forms. In collaboration with the French house of Lemarié, known for its unique use of embroidery and feathers, the collection transforms the brand’s ubiquitous crocodile logo and reimagines other brand hallmarks, including its distinctive polo shirt, vintage elements, upcycling and more.

“Fred Segal is the perfect platform to exclusively showcase Lacoste’s iconic new spring/summer collection,” said Brian Nyilas, vice president of merchandising and brand development at Fred Segal. “The collection features a unique juxtaposition of the brand’s distinctive DNA infused with a new, modern approach resulting in truly dynamic and exciting 20-piece fashion stories. There are few brands as iconic and identifiable yet nimble and collaborative as Lacoste.”

The new one-size-fits-all collection, which retails between $110 and $650, is now available at fredsegal.com, and exclusively in-store at Fred Segal’s Sunset Blvd. flagship and Malibu Village locations.
