FRERE SHOWS SPRING COLLECTION, ADDS WOMEN’S

by Stephen Garner

On September 15th, fashion designer Davidson Petit-Frère presented his spring/summer 2021 ready-to-wear collection as part of New York Fashion Week.

Frère, known for its classic take on men’s tailoring and attention to detail, has expanded its offering this season with his take on women’s ready-to-wear.

The collection became a therapeutic outlet for Petit-Frère after the passing of his grandmother due to COVID-19. He paired face masks the Laguna print and black and white marble stretch brocade to display his awareness of the times and living during a pandemic.

To coincide with New York Fashion Week, Petit-Frere developed a new passion in writing and wrote and co-directed a short film, titled Destined, starring Michael K. Williams.

The collection was handmade in Milan and Naples, milled in Paris. Fabrics include silk, satin, linen, and wool.  The face masks were produced by Save our Loved Ones and will be available for purchase along with the collection.
