GLENN MARTENS’ SECOND DIESEL X DIESEL COLLECTION IS HERE

by Stephen Garner

Diesel has released its second chapter of the Diesel x Diesel capsule collection, the brainchild of creative director Glenn Martens. With this line, Martens looks to iconic heritage pieces from the brand’s history while updating them for today. It’s a cross-decade collaboration between the then and now.

The new 18-piece Diesel x Diesel collection features a focus on core brand pillars like pop sportswear and technical workwear. There’s also a distinct nod to the 1990s, with a majority of the remixed garments originating in this decade.

On the sportswear side, items include a remake of a 1992 leather bomber jacket (which was originally issued for Diesel’s tenth anniversary); a mixed material trucker jacket from the years 1988 and 1989, and a graphic jacquard mohair knit sweater with a zipped front that dates to 1995 and 1996.

In the workwear segment, a cotton canvas coat (referencing a garment from 1994 and 1995) is reimagined with corduroy and tape details, while loose-fitting denim from 1991 (with a minimalist pocket corner flap) is updated for 2021. Likewise, a nylon skirt from 1995 and 1996, and others.

The new Diesel x Diesel collection is now available on diesel.com as well as selected Diesel locations and global retailers.
