Haspel Clothing, the originator of the seersucker suit, delved into its archives to create a limited-edition tailored clothing and shirt collection to commemorate its 110th anniversary. The brand, owned and operated by the Haspel family for four generations, landed on five distinct, heritage-inflected silhouettes—all crafted in vintage-style, tea-stained seersucker fabrics. In tandem with this momentous anniversary, only 110 suits will be produced in each of the five models. Each suit will be numbered and feature a vintage Haspel label not used in decades by the brand.

“One hundred and ten years in business is an extraordinary accomplishment,” said Haspel CEO, and fourth-generation owner, Laurie Haspel Aronson. “We spent a lot of time thinking about how to celebrate this very important milestone. We ultimately decided on this limited-edition capsule collection to pay tribute to our rich brand history. It is also a great way to remake some of our classic silhouettes and update them in a new, modern way.”

The Archival Collection is comprised of five different styles of suits and five coordinating woven sport shirts. A highlight of the collection is a double-breasted, side vented jacket with a modern pleated pant and side tab waistband. The shirt styles consist of solids, patterns and floral prints that all work back to each suit. Suits will retail for $695 and shirts for $125, both found exclusively on Haspel.com.

“The vintage Haspel signature fabrics and years of creative advertisements inspired us most—particularly those from the Sixties and Seventies when Haspel was the ‘go-to’ suit for summer,” explains Will Swillie, EVP and Managing Director of Haspel. “These classic styles are still relevant today and updating them seemed like a fitting way to celebrate the brand’s tremendous legacy.”

The collection launched just in time for National Seersucker Day, celebrated June 13th—a federally recognized day to celebrate American summer style and the innovation and endurance of seersucker fabric in all its forms.
