by Stephen Garner

4WTC_27H & M, one of the world’s largest fashion retailers, will be opening its first location in Lower Manhattan at the new Westfield World Trade Center in spring 2016. Measuring approximately 25,000 square feet, the new location will join the 17 other locations currently open in New York City.

H&M at Westfield World Trade Center will also be the first location in the U.S. to be applying for LEED certification. The interior of H&M’s newest location will operate on renewable power sources and will use less electricity than a conventional office building. H&M will be incorporating recycled content materials throughout the store, as well as using LED lighting and Energy Star equipment.

H&M will be opening its 500th store in North America at Dolphin Mall in Miami, Florida on December 10th.
