HUDSON’S BAY COMPANY CEO, GERALD STORCH, TO BE HONORED AS “FATHER OF THE YEAR”

The National Father’s Day Council will honor Gerald (Jerry) Storch, CEO of Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC), as a 2016 “Father of the Year.” The awards will be presented at a luncheon commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Father of the Year Awards at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel on Tuesday, June 14, with proceeds benefiting Save the Children’s U.S. programs.

Storch is a highly-accomplished retail executive with a proven track record of growing retailers through digital and traditional channels throughout a career spanning 30 years in retail management and consulting. At HBC, Storch oversees the company’s retail banners; comprised of Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylor, Hudson’s Bay, Home Outfitters, Saks OFF 5TH, Gilt Groupe, Find @ Lord & Taylor, GALERIA Kaufhof, Sportarena and Galeria INNO. He also provides leadership for HBC Digital in advancing the company’s all-channel capabilities.

Before joining HBC, Storch served as Chairman and CEO, Toys”R”Us, Inc., where he transformed the company into a $13 billion global retailer, including growing its e-Commerce business to over $1 billion. Prior to his tenure at Toys”R”Us, he served as Vice Chairman of Target where he launched and oversaw the growth of Target.com, and founded and ran Target’s grocery business, as well as the company’s financial services and credit card business.
