HUDSON’S BAY COMPANY NAMED ONE OF 50 BEST CORPORATE CITIZENS IN CANADA

Hudson's Bay CompanyHudson’s Bay Company has been selected as one of Corporate Knight magazine’s Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada, for the second year in a row. The annual ranking, now in its 15th year, sets the standard for corporate citizenship in Canada, recognizing companies that implement responsible business practices based on environmental, social, and governance benchmarks. HBC ranked 43 overall, and is one of only three retailers recognized on the 2015 list.

“HBC is honored to be recognized as one of Canada’s top corporate citizens,” states Jerry Storch, chief executive officer, Hudson’s Bay Company. “We believe that social responsibility and success are interconnected and, as HBC continues to expand globally, we are steadfast in our commitment to ensure that social responsibility remains integral to our corporate strategy.”

Each year, HBC publishes a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report, highlighting the company’s efforts and accomplishments in a number of areas of social responsibility, including: investing in communities where HBC operates, contributing to a sustainable environment, sourcing responsibly and ethically, and strengthening associate engagement. HBC’s 2015 CSR report will be published in June 2016.
