For a brief stint, Jeff Bezos was named the wealthiest man in the world. Sure, it was short-lived and only a few hours, but it’s a reflection of the incredible growth of Amazon, which is far from over. The 2017 Walker Sands Future of Retail study revealed that a whopping 84% of US consumers have made a purchase on Amazon in the past year (and 55% of them were Prime subscribers). What’s more interesting is the consumer exploration & usage in Amazon’s additional offerings, including voice devices (16%), grocery (14% – Pantry, 10% – Fresh) and Dash buttons (5%). Millennials, the first digital native generation of consumers, especially love the way that the buyer experience fits into their on-the-go lives. Four in five (79%) millennials have purchased from Amazon in the past month, and 55% shop at Amazon for the Prime benefits — more than any other generation, according to Yes Lifecycle Marketing’s report “A Marketer’s Guide to Reaching Each Consumer Generation.” Read more at Forbes.
