J.CREW TEAMS UP WITH BARBOUR ON JACKET

by Stephen Garner

J.Crew has launched its first-ever collaboration with Barbour.

The limited-edition take on the classic J.Crew Barn Jacket, that was originally introduced in 1983, brings together the two brands to re-imagine the classic outerwear staple.

Crafted with Barbour’s 4-ounce waxed cotton and signature tartan lining, this new iteration of an American mainstay is a strong nod to the British brand’s roots as a pioneer in weather-resistant outerwear. Producing the jacket with this particular waxed cotton results in a garment that is 30 percent lighter than the regular 6-ounce wax, and creates the perfect lightweight look for spring. The jacket retails for $450.

Barbour was founded in 1894, nearly 90 years before the introduction of the J.Crew Barn Jacket, however the bringing together of these two different, yet synergetic brands, has created this season’s must-have men’s jacket.
