jacquemusAfter announcing the launch of its menswear line at his autumn/winter 2018 show in Paris in February, French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus has just revealed the location of his first menswear show.

On June 25, sandwiched between the Paris men’s shows and women’s couture shows, Jacquemus will debut his first menswear collection in the South of France. This won’t be the designer’s first time showing in France’s southern seaside—he was born there and previously staged an encore of his spring 2017 show in Marseilles.

Jacquemus took to Instagram to announce the date and location of his first ever ready-to-wear menswear show, as well as the face of the collection, French rugby player Yoann Maestri, photographed by the sea by Jacquemus himself.

A protégé of Rei Kawakubo, Jacquemus is one of the most exciting designers working in French fashion today – his fresh approach to the classic Gallic aesthetic is characterized by deconstruction and exaggerated proportions. His entry into menswear will surely follow suit to this aesthetic. We will be waiting with bated breath.
