JEWELRY DESIGNER SHAHLA KARIMI WANTS TO MARRY YOU

by John Russel Jones

Designer Shahla Karimi debuts her men’s collection today, Joon by Shahla, officially launching October 10th, 2022, on shahlakarimi.com. In celebration of offering both women’s and men’s fine jewelry, the ordained jewelry designer launches the “Shahla Karimi Wants to Marry You” campaign, where she will marry one couple and offer her Soho, NYC loft as a venue. To enter, tri-state area couples (or U.S. couples willing to travel to NY) can create a 30-second video that shares their love story and email it to marryme@shahlakarimi.com. The contest winners will receive two Shahla Karimi wedding bands and a $5,000 budget towards a 20-person ceremony (minister and venue included). There is no purchase necessary for entry, (more details here).

The 15-piece Joon by Shahla collection features men’s diamond rings, signets, and bands with sliding wraps, all informed by the architecture of New York City. Joon was designed in Soho with an egalitarian focus on love to meet the growing demand for men’s engagement rings and quality statement pieces. The collection features platinum, gold, and mixed metal rings with cultivated diamonds. Joon (literal translation “life”) comes from the Farsi term of endearment. The name symbolizes that when choosing a partner, they are just that – your life partner, not simply a title such as husband or wife.

Shahla Karimi founded her jewelry line in 2014. Originally from Louisville, she moved to New York City to pursue a design career in product strategy, ultimately leading merchandise for President Obama’s reelection campaign, which featured CFDA designer collaborations with Celine, Versace, and Prada. Her namesake jewelry line is frequently seen on the red carpet and has been featured in Vogue, Architectural Digest, W, and Harper’s Bazaar.
