K-SWISS TO LAUNCH SNEAKERS WITH INTERNET PERSONALITY GARY VEE

by Stephen Garner

Following the recent launch of the K-Swiss brand campaign ‘Generation K’, celebrating the next generation of entrepreneurs, K-Swiss has teamed up with entrepreneur and internet personality Gary Vaynerchuk (‘Gary Vee’) on two sneaker styles bearing his signature and personal design input.

Each unique in their own way, the GaryVee 001 will retail for $100 and is based on K-Swiss’ new Gen-K Knit sneaker, featuring a full knit upper in multicolored black and green knit textile, with premium leather trim, a soft EVA midsole and Gary’s signature on the tongue. The GaryVee 002 will retail for $85 and is a version of K-Swiss’ new Court Frasco, in premium full grain black leather with subtle green accents, featuring Vaynerchuk’s signature on the heel. Both styles feature lace tips with a cork print, a nod to Vaynerchuk’s entrepreneurial roots in the wine business. The custom shoe box features one of Vaynerchuk’s best-known quotes, “Hustle is the most important word ever.”

Gary Vee K-Swiss“Since working with K-Swiss, people keep asking me when my sneaker is coming out,” said Vaynerchuk. “Well, it’s here and it’s going to be the must-have sneaker for the true hustlers. Basketball players and football players have signature sneakers, so why not entrepreneurs?”

“The reaction to our Generation K campaign proved the concept that young peoples’ aspirations have changed,” added Barney Waters, president for K-Swiss.  “They’re no longer basing success on who can run the fastest, but by who is the most successful, who has the most hustle, who’s a boss.”

The Gary Vee collection will be available at Foot Action, Shoe Palace, Finish Line, and via kswiss.com starting November 14. A few pre-release pairs will be sold exclusively at ComplexCon this weekend in Long Beach, CA, where Vaynerchuk will be making a personal appearance at the K-Swiss booth. Additionally, he will be giving the keynote address, where he will discuss the collaboration and his work with the brand at ComplexCon.
