Kenneth Cole Debuts Smart Watch

Kenneth Cole is entering the growing smart watch category with an Apple- and Android-compatible watch in 12 styles for $135 to $165 retail. The Kenneth Cole Connect watches use Bluetooth to synch with a Kenneth Cole app available for mobile phones. The collection debuted at Baselworld, the international watch and jewelry trade show in Switzerland.

“As a designer, I always try to give customers what they want but in a way that they don’t necessarily expect it,” said designer Kenneth Cole in a statement. “Wearable technology is one of the fastest growing fashion categories today and I am excited to be on the forefront of embracing this platform.”

The Kenneth Cole watch collection has a lot of competition. Aside from the category-killing Apple Watch, Michael Bastian and Hewlett Packard launched a smart watch collaboration with Gilt.com last holiday season and according to a New York Times headline, TAG Heuer’s smart watch collaboration with Google and Intel is the talk of Baselworld.
