KITH LAUNCHES MOST EXTENSIVE COLLECTION YET

by Stephen Garner

Kith is presenting its most extensive collection to date – a 108-style assortment comprised of Fall 1 and Fall Classics capsules as well as partnerships including Russell Athletic, Medicom Toy, Kangol, New Era, and Clarks Originals.

This collection commemorates Kith’s tenth anniversary, and thus draws inspiration from the brand’s archive. The foundation for this collection is rooted in Kith’s signature color palette, which features the thirty colors the brand has used most over the last decade. From there, Kith’s best silhouettes were chosen per each one of the color values from the palette to highlight the evolution of the brand from 2011 to today.

The Fall 1 capsule takes a deep dive into Kith’s history as it reintroduces best-selling staples released over the last decade and reinterpret them with updated fabrications. A unique silhouette was chosen for each of the color values from Kith’s thirty-color palette, resulting in a collection of thirty pieces. Through milling very specific fabrics and putting careful consideration into the patterns and artwork utilized, the pieces achieve a gradient throughout the entire offering. Outerwear includes the Becker Coat in both wool and patchwork shearling variations, the Royce Overcoat, Madison Jacket, Denim Midi Puffer, Faux Fur Coaches Jacket, Corduroy Laight Jacket, and Varsity Jacket in wool and leather iterations. Other styles include Varick Denim, Mercer PT Suiting Pant, Rivington Cargo Pant, Tighe Zip Shirt, and more.

Each seasonal Kith collection releases with an update to the brand’s Classics Program – a line of staple silhouettes first introduced in 2014. The Fall 1 collection marks the first time in Kith’s history it has partnered with another brand to create a Classics offering, as Kith reprises its relationship with heritage sportswear brand Russell Athletic. This range applies the same approach as Fall 1, as Kith and Russell Athletic bring back the best Classics silhouettes from Kith’s archive and crafts them in colors values from their signature palette. Fleece styles include the Williams III Hoodie, Vintage Crewneck, Quarter Zip, Williams I Sweatpant, and Bleecker Sweatpants, which are rounded out by an assortment of tee shirt silhouettes such as the Quinn and LAX. The last style is Kith’s corduroy slippers, reimagined in the palette colors. Each style from this collection features the Kith for Russell Athletic embroidered patch, seen throughout the duo’s previous three partnerships.

The color palette theme extends to the accessories for this collection, comprised of headwear, scarves, socks, and lifestyle goods. This includes a partnership with Medicom Toy, as the duo create 100 percent, 400 percent, and 1,000 percent versions of a tenth anniversary Bearbrick. This Bearbrick features Kith’s thirty-color palette printed across the full Bearbrick. The headwear includes suede crown caps, quilted ear flap caps, and New Era & New York Yankees 9Twenty Caps, while beanies are also offered in a variety of our developed fabrics. Kith also worked with Kangol to create six colors of its Classic Casual Bucket hats. Four scarves are also included to match the fabric and color of the beanies, while the Willet Marbled Socks make a return.

The footwear component for this collection is Ronnie Fieg and Clarks Originals’ second installment of 8t St. The Lockhill and Sandford silhouettes introduced in the first installment return in new colorways, while the Breacon and Radlett models are debuted. The Breacon takes after the “Bullet,” a discontinued premium runner from the retired World of Niche brand, known for its technical panels and trail inspiration. Lastly, The Radlett offers a dressier option, mixing a Chelsea Boot upper with the casual elements Clarks is known for. Each silhouette features a debossed Fieg branding on the heel and is offered with custom packaging, shoe trees, and dust bags.

The Kith Fall 1 collection is now available at all Kith shops and on kith.com.
