KITH OPENS THE DOORS TO ITS NEW HAWAII FLAGSHIP

by Stephen Garner

On August 20th, Kith opened the doors to its latest flagship – Kith Hawaii. Located in Honolulu, HI inside the esteemed Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, the store offers Kith apparel and a curated selection of footwear for men, women, and kids.

The two-story, 6,639 square foot space combines signature Kith retail design elements and reintroduces them with a new experience. The glass doors serve as the entrance to the space while the walls are crafted entirely from Carrara and Azul Chielo (Cielo) marble tiles in the brand’s hallmark herringbone pattern. The marble continues up to the second floor, where the retail shop is located. On this floor, walls are clad in white ash and Carrara marble tiles the floor, while local Hawaiian foliage is seen across the perimeter of the glass footwear room. This room also offers a Kith apparel offering for men, women, and kids. Acting as a keystone to the store is Kith’s manifesto surrounded by a monolithic Carrara marble wall juxtaposed with a plush suede bench.

Kith Treats, the brand’s cereal bar-and-ice cream parlor also has a home in this location as the exterior continues with Bianco Mist tiles in the brand’s hallmark herringbone pattern and is updated with custom marble seating that depicts box art from some of the world’s most iconic cereals. The bar will serve a tailored variation of offerings, including its global signature specials curated by friends and family of the brand and an expansive Build Your Own menu, as well as all of Kith Treats’ inline apparel releases.

To celebrate the flagship’s opening, Kith has partnered with Nike to create a collaborative Air Force 1 that will be sold exclusively at this location. Inspired by Hawaii, this model features an all-white leather upper with light blue hits seen on the velvet lining and embroidered mini-toe Swoosh, while the tongue label highlights “Kith Air Force 1” above a map of Hawaii. The quarter panels are debossed with Kith’s monogram pattern, while the sole unit is finished in a vintage beige. Other details include special Kith Air logos, a reimagining of the Nike Air logo, embroidered on the heel tabs and printed on the footbeds.

The Kith for Nike Air Force 1 “Hawaii” will be a location-exclusive launch and it will never release at any other Kith store or online.
