KNICKERBOCKER X KODAK CAPSULE SALUTES THE ICONIC BRAND AND ITS SUPPORT OF ART AND SPORT

by John Russel Jones

New York apparel brand Knickerbocker and classic photography brand Kodak have created a new capsule collection that celebrates Kodak’s iconic yellow film box, as well as its support of the arts and sports. The capsule is set to launch tomorrow (Friday, November 18th, 2022) at 11:00 am at knickerbocker.nyc and at the Knickerbocker flagship store at 357 Canal St., New York, N.Y.

Knickerbocker was established in 2013 with the intent of imagining how the brand could contribute to defining classic American style. They interpret this as a combination of timeless utility and lasting quality fused with exciting references from America’s many rich subcultures. The Eastman Kodak Company is an American public company with a heritage in film photography which has led to its current focus on commercial print and advanced materials and chemicals.

Both brands have been committed to cultivating community from their inceptions. Kodak nurtured its hometown Rochester, N.Y. community by creating extracurricular activities for employees in both sports and in the arts. Knickerbocker incorporated these themes by using original illustrations as well as material from Kodak’s incredible vault containing thousands of archive clippings, ads, and Kodak Magazines. The collection also celebrates the importance of Kodak’s iconic yellow film box that became synonymous with photography itself.
