Li & Fung May Buy Brands From Liz Claiborne

NEW YORK – Liz Claiborne Inc. is negotiating the sale of four of its mid-priced apparel lines, according to the New York Post. The four brands – Emma James, Intuitions, JH Collectibles, and Tapemeasure – are all women’s brands sold in department stores.
The company in talks with Liz Claiborne Inc. is Li & Fung, the Hong Kong-based apparel company recently in the news for its licensing deal with Athlete’s Foot for a line of activewear.
Liz Claiborne Inc. put 16 of its brands up for sale in July.
