LORO PIANA REAFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO THE PIAZZA DI SIENA
Loro Piana reconfirmed its commitment to the Piazza di Siena at one of Europe’s oldest equestrian competitions. The 92nd annual competition was held from May 22nd to May 25th in Rome. The Maison’s competitions, named the Loro Piana Trophy and the Loro Piana Six Bars, took place on Saturday, May 24th. The event was held in the historical park of Villa Borghese in the heart of the city. This year, once again competing under the gold-blue banner—the sporting colors of the Maison—were athletes Edwina Tops Alexander and Lorenzo De Luca, flagships of the House’s Jumping Team.
Loro Piana has a long relationship with the equestrian world. Both Pier Luigi and Sergio Loro Piana had a genuine passion for horses, show jumping, and the sport in general. In 1985, the brand established the Loro Piana Jumping Team to compete in the disciplines of show jumping and dressage. It forged an enduring relationship with the Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports and the Italian Show Jumping Team. In 1992, Loro Piana leveraged its consolidated expertise to create the official uniforms for the Italian Show Jumping Team at the Barcelona Olympics.
This year, both Edwina Tops Alexander and Lorenzo De Luca wore official Loro Piana uniforms, which comprised a reworked version of the Spagna jacket made in navy blue with an ochre cashmere collar and hand-finished crest buttons, paired with white Jodhpurs.
