LULULEMON OPENS EXPERIENTIAL STORE IN CHICAGO

by Stephen Garner

Lululemon has opened its first experiential store in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. The two-level, 20,000 square foot store located at 944 W North Avenue creates ongoing opportunities for guests to sweat, grow and connect with the company’s network of local ambassadors, becoming a hub for the community.

The new store is the physical manifestation of the “sweatlife”, bringing sweat, grow and connect to its guests and celebrating the local Lincoln Park community. Lululemon’s ambassador network was a key component to the design and concept of the new store. With their insights, the company built a flexible space that will serve as a hub for community events, including hosting events, classes, networking, and workshops – for ambassadors and guests.

In addition to the fitness, meditation and nutrition classes, the store’s 45 ambassadors will lead two sweat studios offering 6-10 classes a day, shower facilities and locker rooms, and a cocoon-like space dedicated to self-guided and group meditation. Ambassadors and guests will also have access to personal development workshops, and flexible open concept workstations and lounges to inspire connection. Additionally, the company’s first Lululemon-branded Fuel Space refreshment bar features fresh, seasonal food, smoothies, full coffee bar, beer, and wine.

As an extension of its partnership with Lululemon’s Here to Be partner, I Grow Chicago, 2 percent of all class fees at Lincoln Park will benefit the local nonprofit focused on providing development resources to the neighborhood of Englewood.
